Caring For Your Keepsake Locket
Every Vizimy™ locket is crafted to hold your most personal stories. A few simple care rituals will keep your crystal windows luminous and charms sparkling for years to come.
The Jeweler’s Rule: "Last On, First Off"
Apply lotions, perfumes, and hair mists first and allow them to dry fully before putting on your locket. In the evening, make your keepsake the first piece you remove before showering or sleeping.
1. Gentle Cleaning Ritual
Because our lockets feature precision crystal glass with an enclosed air chamber, dry polishing is significantly safer and more effective than liquid soaking.
Step 1: Outer Glass & Gold Polish
Gently buff the exterior mineral crystal glass and 18K gold-plated surfaces with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. This immediately removes fingerprints and surface oils without abrasive scratching.
Step 2: Internal Chamber Care
When opening the locket to add or rearrange charms, do so over a clean, soft cloth. If dust particles settle inside the chamber, gently wipe the inner glass with a dry corner of your cloth before re-closing.
⚠️ What to Avoid
Never submerge your locket in harsh chemical dips, ultrasonic jewelry cleaners, acetone, or bleach. These solvents can penetrate the glass seal and dull the hand-enameled finish on your micro-charms.
2. Water & Everyday Activities
Our hypoallergenic stainless steel base and 18K gold finish are naturally water-resistant against occasional splashes or humid weather.
However, we advise removing your locket before swimming in chlorinated pools, soaking in hot tubs, or taking steamy showers. Prolonged exposure to high heat and water pressure may cause moisture condensation inside the crystal chamber.
3. Opening & Securing Your Locket
- Easy Opening: Use your fingertip or nail at the side clasp to gently release the magnetic or hinge closure. Never force it with hard metal tools or keys.
- Ensure Charms Lie Flat: Before snapping the glass lid shut, gently tap the locket so all charms sit flat inside the frame. Never force the glass closed over overlapping charms.
4. Safe Storage
When resting between wears, place your necklace inside your original Vizimy™ keepsake gift box or protective velvet pouch. Storing your jewelry individually shields the crystal windows from rubbing against other metal pieces.
